Doubting Intuition

one who doubts is like the surf of the sea,
driven and tossed by the wind
James 1:6
To live one's life in fear and doubt, or with faith and trust – perhaps I am naive, but I choose the latter. I understand the universal principle that you get what you focus on; whatever you put out there always come back to you. I see absolutely no sense in being miserable because I cannot reach a point of confidence and decide that what I encounter in the world is true or not. That's where my instincts and intuition come into play. I trust them. I have faith that the deeper wisdom within me – the divine wisdom - is reading the world accurately.

Both fear and doubt are negative emotions, and neither has a place in my inventory of reactions. Doubt laden with fear is a killer of dreams, and there is absolutely no room in my expansive life for baseless caution.

Doubt is a counterproductive habit that may be learned as a child or it may be picked up throughout life from fear-mongering family, friends, or media. If we have a dubious nature we may either be unnecessarily suspicious or just plain lacking in confidence to draw any conclusion. Doubters are forever plagued with apprehension, worry, and over concern, wasting their valuable time and energy on nay-saying. Their biggest problem is that when they doubt, they project that doubt into the universal creative field. Whatever we send out comes back in the form of an identical reflection in physical reality. The reflection always affirms their doubt. It is perhaps the most sabotaging emotion one can have on the spiritual path to wisdom. It is counter-intuitive and holds the doubter back from happiness and growth. The doubter never has his or her feet firmly planted on solid ground, but may be moved this way or that by any passing circumstance.

Doubt is a really big obstacle to evolving as a human being. Our higher senses remain locked up as long as we doubt ourselves. If we doubt what we are hearing from that little voice within, we need to stop fearing and trust our intuition. The more we trust our intuition, the more it guides us where we need to be going and how we need to be thinking. It is a beacon that shines through all the fog in life. Have faith and trust where it leads.

Born Under a Waxing Crescent Moon

I was born under the ruling influence of a 9.6% Waxing Crescent moon. My lunar birth horoscope says I am assertive, adventurous and filled with curiosity about life. Happiest while pursuing a worthwhile mission, my drive for achievement is central to my success. A creative disposition inspires inquiry and an ability to see the world through fresh eyes. Because of this, visionaries like me are often torn between following conventional wisdom and risking all to break new ground. Facing and overcoming imbalance and chaos brings likely success early in life when ambition and productivity is especially high. Sounds about right!

It is important to know which phase was ruling your parents during your gestation as well as which was ruling on the day of your birth. Most people are gestated when their mother is ruled by the full moon. As a result, they have a strong attachment to the material world, as well as to family and religion - which our society looks upon as normal. But I gestated under the waning moon of both my parents, though I was born under a waxing crescent moon.

Those gestated under the influence of a waning moon have artistic and spiritual inclinations. From an early age, I have known I was on a spiritual quest. I have always known there are no coincidences; my journey has been perfectly synchronized to allow me to meet the people I needed to help me fulfill my destiny. My life has been unfolding with every step, blossoming as I have grown in wisdom, following a path destined for enlightenment.

New Age Dawning

For a very long time, those of us on a path of awakening have undergone preparations for being alive in the 2020s. Not a single one of us would be here now if we were not prepared. On a soul level, we each understand this. What is happening is not coming from the outside world as any form of punishment. It is a realignment from spirit and the natural world, however, and our higher selves are totally aware of the nature of the transition at hand.

We are like children being sent off to primary school by our parents to prepare for a world beyond our imagination. The degree of change that faces us at this juncture of evolution is that great. The world we will inhabit before the end of this decade cannot even be imagined by most people.

How does one prepare for going beyond the edge of everything known about the real world? How are we to deal with the unknown challenges that lie ahead?

The best any of us can do is to live in the moment. Live one day at a time. Take time each day to reflect upon or contemplate your spiritual side. No one is going to give you answers, because no one has all the answers. Steer clear of all fear and negativity, especially that which is generously spread by the media. Limit all exposure to highly-charged emotional reaction. Do not despair. It is a time for having faith in things unseen. It is a time to tell those you love that you love them. It is a time for taking a deep and thorough inventory of how you live, what you could do to be in more balance, what about life brings you joy, and how you use your special gifts and skills to make the world a better place.

Changes will not happen all at once, but will gradually appear, allowing time to adjust and evolve with earth changes. Do not be shocked by what is about to occur. Suspend disbelief and keep an open mind in all matters. Trust that you are resilient enough to survive and thrive under any circumstance.

Show Time

As the world has mostly ground to a halt during the immediate crisis, much is happening behind the scenes. The stage is set and all is nearly ready. Everyone is in their seats, the lights are dimming, and the curtain is about to be drawn on The Play of The Ages.

But not everyone knows what play they have chosen to see. For some the play will be exactly what they imagined, but that is for very few indeed; for most, they will wish they had never decided to come to the theater to see this show. For most people it will be like the lancing of a boil, the ripping off of the veneer that separated life from reality. It will overwhelm their emotional, mental, and nervous systems, but it WILL NOT overwhelm them spiritually. Each one of us here for the show was born knowing that this was the culmination of hundreds of lifetimes of work. Sit back, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the show. NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, DO NOT FEAR, for the ending is a happy one – more than most can possibly imagine.

Sheeple

Scientists at the University of Leeds in the UK have conducted research that proves the tendency many have to act like sheep, unwittingly following the crowd as if they didn’t possess a reasoning mind. While this tendency may have its uses in some situations, such as planning pedestrian flow in busy areas, it doesn’t inspire a ton of hope for humankind.

The study showed that it takes a minority of just five percent to influence a crowd’s direction – and that the other 95 percent follow without even realizing what is going on.

“We’ve all been in situations where we got swept along by a crowd,” said Professor Krause. “But what’s interesting about this research is that our participants ended up making a consensus decision despite the fact that they weren’t allowed to talk or gesture to one another. In most cases the participants didn’t realize they were being led by others at all.”

Scary. Are we such sheeple that we allow a few “informed” people to lead us around without even knowing what’s happening? Sadly, it makes sense. How many fall for scams of all kinds because of friends or “informed” sources, from pyramid schemes to religious hoaxes and political coverups. We seem to believe just about anything, or blindly tolerate it as long as the message is delivered with enough social credibility.

Think of the common sheep: docile, naive and easily led. I find that many people are precisely the same. They are what some call “sheeple” (a portmanteau of “sheep” and “people”). For the most part, they just follow the herd and succumb to their shepherd.

When you’re one of the sheeple, life is very simple. Each day you wake up, go to work, get back home, watch some TV, eat three meals and take one good shit. You’re not exactly living to your full potential, but you’re not stressing yourself either. And being a member of the sheeple is not hard, which is probably why lots of folks are doing an excellent job at being sheeple. There is just a small set of specific things you have to do, and you’re guaranteed to be a certified member of the sheeple. Here they are:

1. Emulate Other People’s Goals in Life

When you decide how you’re gonna spend the next 10, 20 or 50 years of your life, just look around at what other people want and want the same. Take on their life goals as your own.

You’ll probably decide to get a 9 to 6 job, get married, get a mortgage, buy a house and have a couple of kids. Because that’s what most people do in life, right?

Who cares that most of them hate their jobs, over 50% of their marriages end up in divorce and the rest aren’t exactly heaven either, many of them have serious health problems and they retire broke? Play it safe and imitate the pack.

2. Always Follow the Latest Trends

Remember: your image is everything. And if you want others to have a good opinion of you, you have to keep up with the latest trends and fashion at all times.

In order to do this, you need to constantly be cognizant of the latest trends regarding everything: clothing, gadgets, music, clubs, slang, etc. And you need to always be in line with them.

If this season torn up jeans are in style, that’s what you’re gonna wear. And 6 months from now you’re gonna throw them away because you don’t want to appear like a retard following the fashion from 6 months ago.

3. Buy Expensive Stuff just because it’s From Famous Brands

All people will know you’re cool and they’ll respect you if they see you own and use expensive stuff from the top brands. That’s what they base their approval of another person on.

And since other people’s approval is so important in life, you should spend as much money as you can to buy pricey branded stuff.

For example, buy an Omega watch, which will cost you at least $3000. Sell a kidney to pay for it if you have to.

It doesn’t matter that you can buy a watch of identical quality in terms of functionality and design for less than $300. It’s a fucking Omega watch! James Bond wears one! You wanna be like James Bond, don’t you?

4. Hang Out With Mediocre People

Screw high achievers! They can be arrogant and intimidating. And they talk about shit you don’t understand. Interacting with high achievers is not for you. Surround yourself with average individuals and only interact with them.

That guy who spends all his free time drinking beer, watching football and whacking it to internet porn is your ideal friend. You’ll never feel inferior, incompetent or invalidated in any way when he’s present. Hang out with him as much as possible.

5. Get All Your Information from Mainstream Media

We all know that what you hear on TV or read in popular magazines is the proven, accurate truth. Getting all your data from mainstream media will insure that you’re always well informed and properly educated about the most important aspect of today’s reality.

If some guy on TV tells you to avoid eating fat because it will make you fat, then it certainly must be true.

It doesn’t matter that there is little actual scientific research to indicate this, and the one that exists is either poorly done or badly interpreted, and that the most rigorous scientific research actually shows that eating fat doesn’t make you fat, eating carbs does.

The guy speaking to you through the monitor is never wrong.

6. Don’t Stay Too Well Informed

Whatever information you do acquire, make sure it’s not too much of it. There is only so much space in your memory, and if you put too much info in there you might forget the password to your email account.

Avoid reading to many books, if any. And if you do read books once in a while, choose fiction over non-fiction and books with lots of pretty pictures instead of books with heavy text. It has almost zero educational value, but it doesn’t strain your brain.

Moreover, books cost money, which you need to save to buy that pricey Omega watch.

7. Adopt the Opinions of the Majority

One of the best ways to have intelligent opinions is to adopt the opinions of the majority. And the majority can mean the majority in your peer group, your community or society at large. Because what most people believe is what is accurate.

Therefore, don’t think for yourself. What the majority thinks, you think. Your thoughts should be a barometer of public opinion.

And even if sometimes an idea most people believe in is not accurate at all, you still score points with them for believing it and proudly declaring this. They’ll adore you!

8. Always Obey Authority Figures

Whatever your parents, teachers or bosses say is the law. You must never question it and you must always act in accordance to it.

The fact these people have a contextual authoritative position over you clearly signifies that they know a lot more than you and they are superior to you in every way. Act humble around them and do what they say.

Plus, if you don’t obey them and you break the rules, you are certain to get into trouble. Fire and brimstone will come down upon you. So, no matter how insipid a rule or command seems to you, comply with it.

9. Avoid Disapproval like the Plague

Disapproval is bad; really bad. And it hurts like shit. So you should avoid it at any cost. Avoid getting embarrassed, upsetting others, being inappropriate, tainting your reputation or getting rejected in any situation.

In order to do this, you have to mimic the opinions, ideals, behavior and lifestyle of others around you. You have to conform to all norms and expectations, and fit in perfectly. It’s not easy, but if you manage to strip away your individuality entirely, you’ll be able to never elicit other people’s disapproval.

On your death bed you’ll look back at your life and see an empty and unremarkable existence, but at least you’ll know you didn’t bother others.

10. Reject Divergent Ideas by Default

When someone expresses a perspective that’s different from your own, immediately assume it is wrong and ignore it or shut it down. If you actually assess it and analyze the evidence, you might find out it makes much more sense than yours, and you’ll feel like a sucker for having believed something else.

Not to mention that assessing a new idea can entail a lot of mental effort, and maybe even some hardcore research.

In addition, if you accept a perspective that differs from yours as more sensible, others will also expect you to align your behavior with this perspective. And that’s a lot of hard work, which can be easily avoided by being stubborn as a mule. Or, should I say, sheep.

11. Let Inertia Be Your Guide

Since intentionally behaving in a certain way you’re not used to is hard and entails effort, you want to avoid it. Only do what comes easy and feels natural to you. Inertia should be the only force propelling you through life.

If inertia directs you towards doing something that gets you no results, so be it. If inertia directs you towards not doing anything, lying on the couch all day, eating potato chips and watching reruns all day, then that’s what you’ll do.

Conscious change is overrated.

12. Judge Others Based On Appearances and Stereotypes

There is no need to genuinely get to know another person before forming a firm opinion about them. Relying on appearances and stereotypes is sufficient, as they are exact and universal indicators of how people are deep down.

If a person is from a small town, they are clearly stupid. If a person is Asian, they are obviously a nerd. If a person is overweight, they are evidently slothful. What’s so hard to understand?

By the way, some people will think you’re a narrow-minded, superficial fuck for judging others in this manner and they won’t wanna make friends with you. Pay no heed to them. They’re just haters.

13. If Your Life Sucks, Blame the System

If you live by the rules I outlined so far, without any doubt, your life will suck. Yes, it will be simple and uncomplicated, but it won’t be fun and fulfilling either. Your emotions will mostly swing from boredom to mild amusement to frustration to depression to boredom again.

You’ll have little noticeable accomplishments and the main “adventures” you’ll go through will be stuff like spending an entire night at the office to get “an important report” ready for the next day.

When they realize their life sucks, the distinctive reaction of any authentic sheeple is to blame the system. So, do this.

Convince yourself that it’s not your fault; it’s the system’s fault. The system should have taken care of all your needs and make you happy, without requiring you to think for yourself, not believe everything you’re told, have initiative, find your own path and follow it.

Assuming responsibility for your own existence implies thinking responsibly and rationally. And that’s not what sheeple do. It’s so much easier to blame the system! Your life will continue to suck, it will probably get worse with every passing day, but at least you will not feel guilty about it.

Okay! You now have the precise instructions for being sheeple. I hope it’s obvious from the tone of this article that I showed you these instructions hoping that you’ll to the exact opposite of what they prescribe. This article is intended as a satire.

However, if taking the easy path is more important to you than living the best life you can, than by all means, follow these instructions. After all, that’s what good sheeple do. They follow. And it’s possible that society needs sheeple, just as it needs free thinkers.

Any path you choose in life, I wish you massive success!

Obfuscation and Prevarication

We are being lied to. We are being misled. There are three very important numbers regarding the coronavirus that are be purposefully being obfuscated by official reporting sources, which is leading to incorrect conclusions about this disease. We are being manipulated at huge cost individually and collectively.

First, the death rate that is being reported is being inflated by correlation. It is medical fraud, essentially. Correlation is different from causation. People who are profoundly ill with some grave affliction like cancer or heart disease, who also contract the coronavirus and die, are counted as casualties of the coronavirus. Even people who die in auto accidents, who are tested after death for the coronavirus, become coronavirus death statistics. The coronavirus death rate is being artificially and disingenuously inflated. If we are going to be honest about reporting, it should be stated that in the overwhelming majority of coronavirus deaths, the virus is what is referred to as a co-morbid death factor. It was not the immediate cause of death, but merely present at the time of death, and thereby counted to create a larger perception.

The second area of obfuscation is the reporting of the confirmed cases number. By and large, the majority of individuals tested for coronavirus are already ill with the disease and showing symptoms. If you go to the hospital complaining of symptoms that are not coronavirus-related, the hospital does not test you. If you do have a milder form of the infection, you are not tested, and therefore not confirmed. This sort of selective testing drives the number down so that the authorities are under-reporting the incidence of infection in the general population. Statistically then, you end with a much higher, or inflated, death percentage. In this way the virus can be painted as more deadly serious than it actually is.

But the biggest misdirection of them all is the lack of focus on what is referred to as the asymptomatic carrier. In the case of some diseases, you find a very small number of individuals who become infected, but never become ill. Even though they show no sign of infection, they are, nonetheless for a period of time, contagious. A growing body of evidence indicates that for the coronavirus, this number is remarkably high. In fact, it may be one of the defining features of the coronavirus. People with normal to high-functioning immune systems are able to encounter a random virus, take it into their bodies, and defeat it – but, for a period of time they are still contagious.

With this coronavirus infection there are more individuals who are asymptomatic than individuals who show symptoms. If half of us fall into this category, and you figure that into the statistics, it skews everything. But so far, this important piece of evidence is being ignored by the authorities.

What does it all mean? First, it means that the coronavirus is wildly more contageous than is being reported. Many, many more people have been infected than we are led to believe. We are all exposed to a variety of viral and bacterial agents every year that we defeat before they ever make us sick. Second, while being far more contagious than we are being told, it is also far less virulent. So if you do become infected, you are less likely to fall ill. Thirdly, the hospitalization rate of those needing advanced medical care is much lower than what is being reported. And finally, the ratio of those that actually die of coronavirus infection is far lower than what we are being told. Some people die of the coronavirus infection, certainly, but a far larger percentage of those people would have passed away without the virus due to co-morbidity factors – other serious diseases and afflictions.

What to do, what to do! If you are already in a condition of compromised health, you should take every precaution advised so as not to catch this virus. The protocols of responsible behavior during a time of mass infection are good to follow, but not as necessary for those experiencing excellent health. No matter whether in good or poor health, generally, the most responsible thing a person can do is to work on taking better care of their health, especially in keeping their immune system functioning properly. This should be the most important lesson of this eniter event – self-responsibility is the best preventative.

Blessed are the Merciful

Long ago in a far-away land there was a fair princess by the name of Miao Shan. Her father, the King, a selfish and greedy man, tried to marry off the beautiful and brilliant Miao to a horrible, wealthy man three times her age who lusted after her, so that he could secure more wealth and power for himself. When Miao refused, the King banished her to a remote island off the coast of China to live in a monastery.

Miao embraced her banishment, even though the island was barren and the nuns were starving, entirely cutoff from the rest of the world. But for little Miao, it meant freedom. Now she was free to be her radiant, loving self every day, Miao taught the nuns how to garden and plant, and soon what was barren became an island paradise. When the King learned that his punishment was not working, he ordered his guards to burn down the monastery along with all the food and flowers Miao had helped grow. But just as the guards set the monastery ablaze, Miao pricked the tip of her tongue with a hairpin, causing a torrential downpour of rain to put out the fire.

The King was so infuriated that he ordered the execution of his lovely daughter. The King's executioner shattered every sword in the process of beheading the lovely princess before succeeding. Before her last breath, however, she forgave the executioner with such mercy that he fell to his knees and became her first devotee.

After death, Miao traveled to the underworld where she experienced the terrible suffering of all the people around her there. Her heart went out as she listened to each person, acknowledging their pain as their witness. This act of mercy and kindness freed all the people, liberating each soul, gradually turning hell into heaven. Ruler of the underworld Yama became so desperate that he expelled Miao from hell, sending her back to the world of the living with a parting gift of longevity.

Upon her return, Miao lived in a cave, as so many female saints have always done, meditating everyday in peace for many years. She became known as a great healer through her acts of mercy, an energy that doesn't seek to fix or change anything, that never judges or shames, but rather just sees, accepts, and remains; a simple compassion that changes everything by mirroring back to the one who is suffering that at last their voice has been heard.

News of this great healer reached her father, the King, who was deathly ill. The King was told by his advisors that the only way for the King to live is to receive the eyes and the arms of a person who no longer experienced anger. Miao immediately sacrificed her eyes and arms to save her father. The King is restored to good health and for the first time in his life, he is grateful. Out of his gratitude he became curious about and wanted to meet who is was exactly that saved his life with their sacrifice.

The King was taken to meet a hermit living in a remote cave so that he could honor her for her profound selflessness. The cave was a place of remarkable beauty, filled with a radiance and flowers of every kind. When the King saw that the person who saved his life was his own daughter Miao, he collapsed to his knees, transfixed by the magnitude of her mercy. At that moment, Miao transformed into her true form – the thousand-armed incarnation of compassion, the goddess of mercy, Quan Yin.

Each character of every story is played by each of us. We may each be Miao, the executioner, and the King. The lesson here is that the level of mercy we show allows the universe to give back to its giver a thousandfold. All of life is an exchange. “Giving-is-Receiving” is the energetic frequency upon which the universe is aligned. It is when we give of ourselves, especially when it is really hard to give, when it hurts to give, that we receive the most in the exchange.

We forget that anything we might have to give is never really ours, only an illusion of ownership. What Miao gave to her father had very little to do with him; it was about setting her true self free. Her generosity and forgiveness unbound her from any further identification with the illusion of the physical world. Forgiving the King allowed her to realign with the law of the universe – the law of giving-is-receiving.

Mercy is the embodiment of Compassion. It may be difficult at times to show mercy and compassion to those who may have done harm to us or to others. It may be hard to overcome anger at another. But anger, even if righteous, erects some serious walls in the heart. Anger doesn't hurt the person we are angry with, but blocks us from the natural flow of the universe, disconnecting us from what it means to be truly alive and to give and receive love.

Mercy is at the heart of the prayer of the heart - Kyrie Eleison – Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have Mercy on Me - because mercy is what returns to our own heart when we show mercy to another. It is a power that isn't a power over others, but a power in exchange; mercy is the perpetual exchange of power and is at the heart of how the entire universe works. Only when we forget ourselves for the sake of someone else, may we be instantly filled beyond whatever we may have asked for.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.

Challenge and Inspiration

Life is ever-changing and filled with challenges, one after another. It is just the nature of things. One will always be pressed to adjust to a bumpy road ahead. It is ceaseless because of our huan need to always evolve, always become something else, something better than before. The human spirit thrives on challenge. It is why we enrolled in this school called life - to learn and to evolve. But we're never completely on our own. There is guidance available every step of the way – if you know where to look.

It's called inspiration. You must allow yourself to be inspired by challenges, and not defeated by them. The best way to get inspired, to get in touch with who you really are, and in tune with the universe is to follow your joy. Do whatever gives you that pumped up feeling of exuberance. And do it often. When you do this, the best of you shines through. You get in touch with that magical deep-down higher aspect of yourself. Trust it. It will guide you, show you the way, and not let you down.

It is a great day when you can't wait to jump out of bed in the morning, full of uncontained exhilaration, and ready to hard charge it. That's inspiration. That's divine guidance that is ready to be there for you, and will not fail you.

To be inspired means that your mind has reached a stage where you are consciously and positively under the direction of the mysterious higher aspect of yourself. This is when you are truly showing your colors. It is who you truly are. When you put your full energy behind this inspiration, doors fly open into expanding opportunity. Once you feel it, you cannot help but throw your whole heart behind it and get extremely motivated.

Joy, passion, inspiration, and excitement are the clues you need to look for. When you feel these emotions you know you are getting aligned to accomplish great things, effortlessly. When you are fully engaged, the forces of manifestation in your life readily give you exactly what you need. On the other hand, when you feel blocked or get that feeling of heaviness, it is a sure sign that you need to change direction or change the way you are thinking, the sooner the better. If you don't have that feeling that you are in the zone, that everything is clicking, then pay attention and make the changes to get your mojo back and be inspired.

Poised Intensity

"Everyone sees the unseen
in proportion to the clarity of his heart,
and that depends upon how much he has polished it.
Whoever has polished it more sees more -
more unseen forms become manifest to him.”
― Rumi

One of the things I am personally working on improving is the quality of being more grounded, more fully present in any given moment, and centered. Only by having a more disciplined approach to focused intent can I be free of regretful thoughts, petty passing distractions, and future worries. Rather than setting aside time to sit quietly in solitary meditation, I open the gates and take a meditative stance in the calm or noise in every moment of the normal flow of life.

Perhaps my Zen training comes into play here, for I can find solace any time just by posturing my attitude to perceive any action or inaction as a meditative opportunity. Doing the dishes becomes a meditation. Raking the leaves becomes a meditation. Moving my bowels becomes a meditation. There is no occasion that passes that cannot be appreciated for its intrinsic value and joyful expression in the moment. I can quiet my mind and become a receiving station for the universe under any circumstance. Cultivating inner focus and detaching from the cumbersome details of everyday life then become a conscious choice.

By living from the center, without bias for up and down, right or wrong, now or then, I am always prepared with a pure response to whatever arises, with compassion and understanding. I stand in the calm while the storm about me rages, knowing love's eternal plan perfectly guides and controls all of life. I sit atop the mountain, poised intensely on the edge of infinity. As I open my heart, the distant horizon becomes more clear. More and more of the unseen realm comes into view. I am receiving more and more as I become more divinely attuned. Higher Mind increasingly dominates the landscape, within and without.

I only wish I could find the words to share what my opening heart is receiving. The view from the slopes and the valleys below offers only a hint of the perspective from the top. I beckon others to follow, to abandon the safety of the slopes and valleys, to take on the risks of going higher. Only a climber with heart can touch the sky. Words and photographs will never portray what will forever remain unseen by those unwilling to expend the effort to reach for a higher dream.

Kýrie Eléison

Remember the #1 hit song "Kyrie" in 1985 by the pop/rock band Mr. Mister? The lyrics are about the road that must be traveled, through the dark of the night, to reach a highway in the light. Kýrie Eléison, which translates into "Lord, Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me" in Greek is a prayer of the heart that is part of many Christian liturgical rites. The words to Kýrie Eléison were written by lyricist John Lang who co-wrote the songs on all of Mr. Mister's albums. The music was composed by Richard Page and Steve George while on tour with Adam Ant, and according to Page it is essentially a prayer. With that in mind, take a trip down memory lane and listen again below.

Kýrie Eléison
Kýrie

The wind blows hard against this mountain side
Across the sea into my soul
It reaches into where I cannot hide
Setting my feet upon the road

My heart is old, it holds my memories
My body burns a gemlike flame
Somewhere between the soul and soft machine
Is where I find myself again

Kýrie Eléison, down the road that I must travel
Kýrie Eléison, through the darkness of the night
Kýrie Eléison, where I'm going, will you follow?
Kýrie Eléison, on a highway in the light

When I was young I thought of growing old
Of what my life would mean to me
Would I have followed down my chosen road
Or only wished what I could be

Kýrie Eléison, down the road that I must travel
Kýrie Eléison, through the darkness of the night
Kýrie Eléison, where I'm going, will you follow?
Kýrie Eléison, on a highway in the light
