RESOLUTION

The first day of the year is traditionally marked as a time to embark on the resolution of new habits, ones that will lead to desired change or improved circumstance or personal enhancement. But the dawning of each day can be just as significant as the beginning of a new year to resolve to make a new start; for that matter the same could be said for each emerging moment we take breath and smile at our good fortune for being alive in this wonderful sentient experience. The world is pregnant with opportunity to reach for every dream in every moment, with full expectation that it can be attained.

I recently shared the delightful company of a Texas woman named Megan who completed her first one-hundred mile race in a remarkable time, deriving her energy from only mandarin oranges, grapes, celery, and drinking water. The attractive glow about her as she elaborated about the benefits of being a fruitarian more than captured my intrigue. Throughout my life I have experimented with all manner of strict fruit and vegetarian dietary regimens..... before ultimately concluding that we are not so much what we "eat" as we are what we "think". With that in mind, I have mostly set aside discipline, and indulged in a more creative approach to seeking my energy needs through food and drink. It has been my core belief for some time that if I BELIEVE something is good for me or will do no real harm, then so it is. I create my own reality.  There is too much anecdotal evidence in my experience for me to doubt the wisdom within this theory. So I generally indulge as I please when I eat, and enjoy the foods I consume.

Nonetheless.... I do BELIEVE eating more high vibration foods raises your personal vibration and facilitates spiritual growth. So, yeah, while I enjoy drinking beer and shots of bourbon, I also eat a lot of grapes, bananas, oranges, blueberries, pomegranites, celery, carrots, spinach, and avocados. And I like my pumpkin seeds, cashews, hemp hulls, flax seeds, and chia. While none of these require cooking to eat, some things just taste better when you do heat them up, like potatoes, yams, squash, cabbage, rice, quinoa, and amaranth. I eat a fair amount of these, but I also eat meat and fish and cheese and eggs and some processed food and sweets when it so pleases me. If I compromise my health by doing so, I don't worry about it. As far as I'm concerned, I will eat what is set before me most of the time and not worry whether or not a thing is deleterious to my health. My body is resilient and will tolerate periodic variance or binges as long as I BELIEVE it is so. The worry is worse than the poison.

Maybe it all boils down to trust. I live a charmed life of divine nonchalance; I live as I please. I trust that I live in a loving, nurturing universe. I trust that this Cadillac of a body that I cruise around in will serve me well for as long as I need it. So, with the beginning of this new calendar year, the beginning of a new day to embrace the fortunes and challenges of this glorious incarnation, and the beginning of every cherished moment of this wonderful spiritual existence, I resolve to ever remind myself of my own divinity and not get too caught up in the details. As I spiral upward in my vibration I seem naturally to chose to eat more fruits, vegies, seeds, and nuts anyway.  I trust that the universe will lead me where I need to be and what I need to do.
NA ZDOROVIE !!!
