Synchronicity is the Universe Saying YES

Synchronicities are those moments of “meaningful coincidence” when the boundary dissolves between the inner and the outer. At the synchronistic moment, just like a dream, our internal, subjective state appears, as if materialized in, as, and through the outside world. Touching the heart of our being, synchronicities are moments in time in which there is a fissure in the fabric of what we have taken for reality and there is a bleed through from a higher dimension outside of time.

Synchronicities are expressions of the dreamlike nature of reality, as they are moments in time when the timeless, dream-like nature of the universe shines forth its radiance and openly reveals itself to us, offering us an open doorway to lucidity. Synchronicity was one of Carl Jung’s most profound yet least understood discoveries, in part because it cannot be appreciated until we personally step into and experience the synchronistic realm for ourselves. Jung’s discovery of synchronicity was in a sense the parallel in the realm of psychology to Einstein’s discovery of the law of relativity in physics. Because it is so radically discontinuous with our conventional notions of the nature of reality, the experience of synchronicity is so literally mind-blowing that Jung contemplated this phenomenon for over twenty years before he published his thinking about it.

Jung’s synchronistic universe was a new world view which embraced linear causality while simultaneously transcending it. A synchronistic universe balances and complements the mechanistic world of linear causality with a realm that is outside of space, time and causality. In a synchronicity, two heterogeneous world-systems, the causal and acausal, interlock and interpenetrate each other for a moment in time, which is both an expression of and the vehicle through which our deeper wholeness is revealing itself. The synchronistic universe is beginning-less in that we are participating in its creation right now, which is why Jung called it “an act of creation in time.”

People speak about synchronicity as something that just happens coincidentally. Something surprising occurs out of the blue and we attribute it to a “coincidence of time”. Hence, our tendency is to accept events that surprise us in positive ways as coincidental. Over the years of exploring consciousness, I have come to conclude that there is very little coincidence, chance, or luck involved in synchronous events, or life in general.

Any of us is able to create synchronicities by thinking, feeling, sensing, and acting in a specific way so as to consciously create them! This activity is what some people call “the secret art of manifestation”, but really there’s nothing secret to it. The true path to creating synchronicities consists of two simple steps. First, learn how to incorporate your heart’s intuition into your thinking process so that your heart is broadcasting a specific, measurable vibration. When you do this, you will start to know what it feels like to live in an open- hearted way. Once you are able to hold your heart open, simply become more aware of the universe offering signs of affirmation on choices in your life. Acknowledge synchronicities with an appreciative smile and move forward with confidence that you are making the best choices.

If there is a secret to it then it lies in learning the difference between a closed heart and an open heart, and choosing to create from the latter. As we do this, we align with more empowering thoughts. We have a heightened ability to sense the world around us, even on a non-local scale, and to then tap into opportunities that we would not have noticed if our hearts were shut down.

So what does an open heart feel like? It is simple. When your heart is open: You feel a sense of connection to yourself and everything around you. You are happy to be alive. You trust the process. You feel free to explore new things. You find yourself saying, “I can do it!” You stay aware of the possibilities around you. You listen to your intuition and follow it.

When your heart is closed, you feel the need to be on guard, you mistrust things and people, you find yourself saying “I can’t... because”. In this state, possibilities that are right there in front of you can’t make it through because you won’t see them. In the open-hearted state, you will find yourself being amazed over and over again at things that appear to “just happen”. But they didn’t just happen! The occurred because your heart is open, you created the groundwork, the pathway, and the possibility for synchronicity to help you steer your life's course.!
