Limits of Perception

The greatest tragedy in life is not so much that we have been shaped by the world we live in so as to have lost our way on the spirit path, but the fact that we have lacked the will and intent in our lives to change ourselves. The only way out of this dilemma as individuals and as a species is by way of a true rebellion, a revolution against our own fear and stupidity. The hardest part is that it must be a revolution of one, a solitary task that cannot be accomplished with the support of any other.

There may be an infinite number of ways to perceive the world. With countless ranges of perception available in the universe, there is no single objective reality. That's just how the universe works. So how do you lift the societal veil to reveal the wealth of perceptual possibilities that have always been there for the choosing? No mentor will step forward to guide you. No written wisdom exists to lift you over the threshold. The only path of discovery to expand your abilities is to stand before the abyss, alone, and either hurl yourself off in a winged fury of abandon, or run and hide in the security of your own comfortable routines.

The ONLY limit to human perception is ultimately timidity. In order to manage our lives in the world we live in we had to give up the gift of infinite perception that would enable us to witness everything. We sacrificed our flight of awareness in exchange for the security of the known. We can always abandon the known to live audacious lives out on the edge of discovery, but we cower instead, and dare not when we should be prepared to sacrifice it all at a given moment's notice.
