"It
is still far too little appreciated that the history we read, though
based on facts, is, strictly speaking, not factual at all, but a
series of accepted judgements; and it is these generalized
judgements, precisely because they are so plausible and so easily
assimilated, that form the minds and colour the outlook of those who
cannot know the fragility of the framework upon which they rest.”

Geoffrey Barraclough (1955)
Fomenko's methods illuminated the errors of the chronology that historians have long puzzled over and cast a new light on the past four hundred years of deception. The detection of similarities in the textual sources provided evidence and support of the notion that human civilization is no older than one thousand years.
Along with his empirical statistical analysis, Fomenko and his associates spent considerable time looking at the dates of solar and lunar eclipses. For some time scholars have known that the dates of historical eclipses do not line up well with mathematical projections of past eclipses. Either the moon traveled around the earth much faster for a period of hundreds of years and then slowed back down, or history has been manipulated to make it appear longer than it actually was. Upon examination of the periodicity of historic eclipses, Fomenko found that they all fit neatly within the timeline of the last millennium, meaning every historic event associated with an eclipse also had to have occurred in the last one thousand years. The evidence for Fomenko's New Chronology was further supported by looking the position of historic zodiacs, which all lined up perfectly in the last one thousand years.
George Orwell in his book 1984 said that “Who controls the past, controls the future.” Despite the fact that there are many unexplainable gaps, historians argue that most of humankind's past is fairly well known. We know the events that took place in different countries by different peoples, the sequence of these events, and the names and biographies of the rulers of entire dynasties. Historians believe that the science of history is primarily based upon historical documents, as well as the archaeological remains and surviving objects of material culture. In many respects, this is all true... but looking into our past is not as simple as it seems.
Essentially, all traditional dating methods used today have significant drawbacks and limitations. In determining the age of artifacts and ruins using modern methods, the margin for error may reach not only hundreds, but often thousands of years. Because historic dates may be off by thousands of years, the traditional chronology of historical events cannot be absolutely trusted. Very often the narratives upon which we base our history are myths to a large extent, fictional stories, so the extent by which humanity knows its past is much less than is commonly believed.
So how can we learn the true history of humanity on this planet? As it turns out, history may now be verified by mathematical calculation. Evidence has piled up during the past half century that substantiates Fomenko's claims with hard facts and logic, validated by astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources. It would appear, as much as any one of us chooses to deny it, that recorded history is largely a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. And, there is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century.
Consider some extracts from his discoveries. All ancient history, including the history of Rome, Greece, and Egypt are just a reflection of events that occurred in the Middle Ages. All the Chinese and Arab history are fabrications of the 17th and 18th centuries by the Jesuits. Genghis Khan and the Mongols were actually Russians, occupying lands that now make up the Western United States - the far eastern part of the Siberian Empire prior to its disintegration in 1775.
Fomenko refers to the Middle Ages as the “Antiquity” and proves the mutual superimposition of the Second and the Third Roman Empires, both of which become identified as the respective kingdoms of Israel and Judah. Furthermore, he asserts that the famous reform of the Occidental Church in the 11th century by “Pope Gregory Hildebrand” was the reflection of the 12th century reforms of Byzantine emperor Andronicus, who in his turn identified with Jesus Christ, who lived in the 12th century. The Trojan War and the Crusades were the same historic event, recorded by Homer, and happened only as late as the 13th century; the great poet himself actually lived in the 14th century. No stone in history of the Antiquity is left unturned by Fomenko.
History: Fact or Science? This is the title of a series of books by Fomenko that elaborate on his proposition. The books are easy and pleasant to read; they are well-illustrated, contain hundreds of charts, graphs and illustrations, copies of ancient manuscripts, and countless facts attesting to the falsity of the chronology used nowadays. These books are the beginning of a major correction to the chronology we live with and our thinking about our past. It is impossible to argue against Fomenko's assertion, no matter how unorthodox it may be, when it is backed by such rock solid scientific data that is unquestionably believable upon serious consideration.
So, the historic chronology universally accepted today and taken for granted may be simply wrong. The question that remains is “Why was history manipulated?” For control? By whom? We may not have to look very far to find the answer.
