Gift From an Angel

So I was in a thrift store yesterday, just killing time waiting on my wife, looking at some used books.  As I scanned the shelves, nothing really jumped out and grabbed me.  You see, books generally choose me when I go into a book store.  I just open up and sometimes a book will literally jump off the shelf - the very one I need to buy.  But yesterday, nothing like that happened.  One book, a pictorial encyclopedia which I would have no interest in buying, even for just a buck, somehow got me to take it off the shelf and open it.  It was the only book I touched in the couple of minutes I was there.  On the page that I opened to was a piece of carefully folded wax paper protecting three pressed four-leaf clovers the former book's owner had apparently found and was preserving for posterity.

I don't believe in accidents or serendipitous coincidences.  Everything has meaning.  My angels have been very generous with their reminders and gifts in recent years.  I am truly blessed and live an enviably charmed life.  So, I immediately looked up upon finding the gift and smiled with gratitude in acknowledgement that the fates were indeed sending me a message.  I put the book back on the shelf, but kept the gift of the four-leaf clovers, which I shall treasure always.  It is not often one receives a gift from the angels... or maybe it happens all the time!!!!
