Not Knowing

Forgetting what we have learned is not always anti-intellectual. Thinkers through the ages — from Zen master Shunryu Suzuki to Henry David Thoreau — have suggested that we cultivate "not-knowing" along with learning. If you don't appreciate the importance of not knowing everything, you are going to have problems.

It is only when we forget all our learning that we begin to know. I do not get nearer by a hair’s breadth to any natural object so long as I presume that I have an introduction to it from some learned man. To conceive of it with a total apprehension I must for the thousandth time approach it as something totally strange. ~ Henry David Thoreau

It is a good idea to forget many of the things you have learned over the years. Some are outmoded, some incorrect, some too obvious and trite. We also need a fresh approach to things of interest, to see them as if for the first time, to attain “beginner’s mind.” This approach would help make a thing “strange.”

Years ago, when I kept coming across the idea that knowledge is not a good thing, I used to wonder if this was anti-intellectualism. But I kept finding the idea in the work of many brilliant thinkers that I admired. I loved to read and study, and I knew they did. So why were they so negative about knowledge? Here is poet David Hinton’s translation of chapter 71 of the Tao Te Ching: Knowing not-knowing is lofty. Not knowing not-knowing is affliction.

Let me go over this beautiful translation as I understand it: If you know the importance of not knowing everything, or anything for that matter, you are way ahead. You know the most important thing. If you don’t appreciate the importance of not knowing everything, you are going to have problems. You will be under the dangerous illusion that you know what life is all about. You will have banished the mysteries that are so important. You will be full of ego, thinking that you know what you are talking about, when in fact you are only defending against your ignorance. The starting point toward wisdom is to acknowledge your basic ignorance, your not-knowing.

Let’s delve into Zen master Shunryu Suzuki’s phrase “beginner’s mind.” You can always find a frame of mind in which you are a beginner, maybe once again. You keep coming back to the role of student and novice, open to learning because there is something you know you do not know. How fruitful that attitude is. But you could discover it in any situation, acknowledging and appreciating the extent to which you don’t know something. Sometimes achieving it may require a little bruising to the ego, but that is always a good thing.

When you cultivate not-knowing along with learning, you also allow room for mystery, for the profound and inexplicable parts of life that give you a sense of awe. An appreciation of the unknowable keeps you honest and humble in the best way. It is the base of a religious or spiritual attitude and in the end makes you more human. The truly wise person knows how important it is not to know everything.

I sometimes find myself giving a lecture or speaking in an interview when I know I don’t know at all what I am talking about. Usually that is because the topic is unknowable. I often speak about the soul, for instance, yet after years of study I still don’t know just what the soul is. They ask me to talk about God, and I’m certainly at a loss there.

The trouble with some teachers and leaders is not that they don’t know what they are talking about, but that they don’t know that they don’t know what they are talking about. They go on blissfully using words that even they do not really understand, but they think they do, or at least talk as if they do.

The solution is to admit to our ignorance and try to clear our minds of preconceptions. These are Thoreau’s recommendations. Try to forget what you think you know. Don’t rely on authorities, but simply be in the presence of whatever it is you are concerned with. Finally, aim for “total comprehension” and not just acquaintance.

As I sometimes put it, knowledge from the soul is more intimate than knowledge from research and study. Both are valuable, but Thoreau is reminding us of an approach we may overlook: being closely present to the thing we are studying. I sometimes listen to professors giving speeches about psychotherapy, and yet they have never practiced it. I have been doing it for forty years and sense an important gap in their presentations, a wide gap. I do not want to say that you always have to have an experience of something before you can comment on it.

Sometimes a good distance is useful. Still, there is some valuable emptiness in forgetting your information and just being present with the object of your investigation.

Biological Ascension

Many people are attempting to describe Ascension as in the Mayan calendar, the 2012 timeline, a quantum leap etc. What Ascension means is there are mechanics behind creation of which consciousness moves and evolves through dimensional space. Meaning, evolution progresses through the rising of frequency which brings forth a higher reality which consists of higher awareness, knowledge, wisdom, insight etc. We are transitioning into a broader spectrum of reality which is brought on by experience. We evolve through experience. We are skipping through time which is a change in the focus of our consciousness, an elevation of our awareness.

This is why many of you are currently experiencing this Ascension process; it's no coincidence this is happening to so many people. We're experiencing a timeline split. The ones who have chosen the Ascension timeline are growing more and more everyday. Every one of us are experiencing and doing this process at our own pace which was planned before this incarnation. Those of you who are waking up to this Ascension process are transitioning due to DNA activation. You are having non-human memory brought forward into your human experience. We are here to lay the groundwork into this new reality.

You need to ask yourself why are you resonating to this particular material and so many around you have no interest? Well, it's quite simple it's all about where you're at in frequency. You are an energetic leader in this particular process. Ascension is the spiritual science behind consciousness. Again, there are mechanics behind creation. We are becoming more aware of how this framework works.

At the beginning of this Ascension process many people go through what they call the "Dark night of the Soul" which is the dismantling of your 3D identity. It can be tough for many some will fragment and some skate right through it. When you realize there's a reason for this happening to you it makes it much easier and the dots begin to connect.

What's happening is you're being downloaded with tremendous amounts of data and information and it will take time for our human minds to comprehend it all. Down here in these lower, denser realms we experience a lag and that's what makes it tough. We are going through a consciousness revolution. We are reaching levels of consciousness integration that this human form currently cannot even imagine let alone comprehend. We are in a learn as you go period. As I see it, there are two levels of Awake, so to speak, that are going on.

There are those that are awakening to the horrors on our planet, meaning the elite pedophile network, the satanic ritual abuse that goes on with the children, the negative off-world, anti-life presence that's been ruling our existence for thousands of years etc. Then there are those that are Awake who see beyond that in the way of levels of dimensional frequency, the levels of consciousness awareness which is bringing in this higher reality of insight, knowledge and wisdom etc. This higher knowledge is in each and every one of us - we just need to get past the mental limitations and programming that keeps us suppressed. We are going through the unlayering process. We are preparing ourselves to embody this higher frequency which is like being plugged into voltage that our minds can't even comprehend. We need to understand that our bodies are transitioning from a carbon-based to a crystalline-based embodiment.

We're transforming to a less dense state of matter. If we didn't do this by a slow process our physical bodies would combust. We would burn out our Central Nervous System etc. Remember, Ascension has never happened before to a being in such a physical, dense state. Our goal as the human being is "Biological Ascension" this is why we are the greatest show on Earth or the Universe for that matter. We are literally drawing in a higher intelligence. You must surrender to this process; it's like opening the floodgates to get access to this higher intelligence. This is what's happening to many of you. Like I've said many times the people that are fighting this, the resistors, are just making it harder on themselves. Because, eventually it's going to happen to everybody - no doubt about it. There's no other option.

We are all Galactically based and we all have different roles in this Ascension process. But, generally those who are currently interested in this particular information are being recruited for leadership, are part of the planetary grid work which means particular people are being sent to different locations on Earth to transmit their codes.

We need to understand that the physical body is the Holy Grail. Many in the spiritual field concentrate on spirituality of the mind and higher realms, but we need to understand what our biological structure is going through and it's extremely monumental and profound. Biological Ascension is the resurrection, so to speak, dissolving the anti-life force of this 3D structure. Our bodies have been born into an anti-life force which is the third dimensional structure that unfortunately has genetically altered our physical form. We are being ushered into unknown territory physically, spiritually and mentally.

It is absolutely amazing what is happening to the human being. We are being monitored, communicated with and contacted. This is why we're seeing an incredible amount of Galactic activity going on above our heads. Earth is going through a monumental transformation and we all feel like we're traveling blindly through space trying to figure it all out. But, remember every one of us are exactly where we're supposed to be so be easy on yourselves.

Beginnings

With loving greetings from all souls at this station, this is Matthew. When weaker civilizations fell prey to the darkness, they were captive within its low vibrations. Warring, ignorance, poverty and fear, which are bereft of light, is how dark ones controlled populations, and that is what befell Earth’s peoples.

When a dearth of light put the planet’s very life at risk about 90 years ago, Gaia asked for help. Out of love for her and her residents, highly evolved civilizations infused the planet with light and souls started leaving their advanced worlds to incarnate on Earth to add their light.

That intensity of light is the reason conflict and chaos are occurring around the globe - it is part and parcel of a world being freed from the grasp of darkness. Light’s high vibrations are clashing with and overwhelming the low vibrations, thereby bringing a long, long era of darkness to its close.

Dear ones, we know you want clear, irrefutable evidence. You want to know when G/NESARA will be announced; the new global economic system will be implemented; the illegal Biden administration will be removed; and the Federal Reserve System, whose tentacles reach all countries, will be abolished. Citizens who are rebelling against their corrupt governments want to know when they will have leaders with wisdom and integrity, and all of you want to know when the many truths still hidden will come forth.

We wish we could say more than “on the near horizon,” but we don’t know exactly when those vital developments will occur. What we can do is assure you the Divine Plan is smack on target and extraterrestrial family members are part of the liberating forces of light that some call “White Hats.”

And, let us remind you of the light’s progress in just the last two years or so. The Illuminati’s efforts to start WWIII failed; so have all their attempts to demolish strategic cities with nuclear warheads on missiles. Their covid-19 virus did not kill billions of the populace and trying to achieve that goal via vaccinations is not working either. Their hold on major media is cracking. In several countries their bioweaponry laboratories and storage facilities and centers for sex trafficking, pedophilia, satanic rituals, adrenochrome production, money laundering and cyber warfare have been demolished. Many of the individuals at the top of their diabolical pyramid have been removed.

The Illuminati’s stronghold is their illegally and immorally amassed fortunes, and the light forces are working to separate them from their funds so that money can be used to end mass impoverishment. If you think helping in an undertaking of that scope is beyond your ability, let us tell you, it is not - it is right up your alley, so to say. Your light that has been helping the peoples awaken has been undergirding every effort to vanquish darkness from Earth.

We know it is hard for you to think of yourselves as the powerhouses you are, and this is understandable. You get sick, moody, disillusioned, angry, impatient and exhausted. Some of your efforts fall short and you make decisions that in retrospect you realize were poor. You don’t always have satisfying jobs or enough income or fair treatment, and some days are just plain miserable.

That is part of life in a third density world, and before you volunteered to go to Earth - and you did that with fervor - you knew that is what you would experience. You also knew you would surmount whatever obstacles you encountered because those feelings and circumstances are not who you are. You are eternal beings of love-light, and your energy’s high vibrations have been creating betterment on the planet during all the years you have been there. Simply by BEing, you are that powerful, that influential!

Probably souls at your station know some scientists don’t believe the ‘Big Bang’ happened. If it didn’t, how was the universe created? Also, how were souls created? How did good and evil begin?” First let us say, always Big Bang has been a misnomer - the Beginning was completely silent as Creator/Source/Creation expressed Itself as light. Creator, the Ultimate Being and Supreme Ruler of the cosmos; Source, from whence everything in existence comes; Creation, Its action and “products,” immortal souls. For simplicity of speaking, we say only Creator, and It as designation for I AM, Totality, Oneness of All is with utmost reverence and respect.

While light may be thought of visual, or science, and love as a sensation, or spirit, light and love - or science and spirit - are one and the same energy, and it is the most powerful force in the cosmos. This energy is Creator’s infinite, eternal omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence as pure love-light.

At a time unknown, Creator created the first souls, whom you call the archangels, and they had proportionally the mind and power of Creator. That didn’t diminish It one iota - the archangels were Creator experiencing Itself. At some point It endowed them with the capability to co-create - they could use Its energy to make whatever they could think of. First they made a lower realm of angels, then gods and goddesses. Those souls, which also had proportionally the mind and power of Creator via the archangels, added to Its experiencing and to their co-creators’.

After the archangels made materials for forms so each soul could choose to have a body or remain pure spirit, Creator selected a god of pure spirit to co-create whatever he desired and rule over this universe and chose other gods or goddesses to do the same in six other universes. Our god made myriad souls, all of whom had proportionally his mind and power. As his experiencing selves, they did not diminish his entirety in any way at all - he is an amalgamation of all souls, in physical bodies or in spirit, in this universe.

Some of them helped him make galaxies with billions of astral bodies, and all souls could choose to incarnate within or upon those bodies or be free spirits. The energy of love-light - good, or godly - was the total essence of everything that was manifested throughout this universe.

It was reptilians, mutated descendants of Luciferian energy, who brought evil here. By agreement of our god and the ruler of the universe where reptilians originated, a portal was briefly opened so some of them could enter ours. At that time in antiquity they were the most intelligent species in the cosmos, and the agreement was intended to benefit both universes.

By reproducing themselves as well as procreating with souls who lived here, the incoming reptilians would genetically impart their superior intelligence while absorbing this universe’s love-light energy. When they returned to their universe, they would spread this energy’s high vibrations throughout their civilizations, and their progeny in this universe would genetically endow successive generations with superior intelligence.

The win-win situation the two universal rulers anticipated did not happen.

Some of the reptilians who came did become beings of love-light as they passed on their genes, but they did not go back home. Neither did those who refused the light. They also proliferated and all of them have caused havoc ever since the first ones came eons ago. They initiated warring and rendered dormant ten of twelve DNA strands in civilizations they conquered, making them susceptible to falling into darkness.

Now then, Gaia is the soul that embodied as the planet she called Terra - somewhere along the line Earth became its name. Gaia, God and Sol, your solar system’s sun, manifested pristine verdant lands; crystal clear seas; magnificent trees, flowers and other plants; and the mineral kingdom. She gave animal design ideas to residents of Jupiter, where similar conditions existed, to manifest and transport to Terra.

When everything was ready, Gaia asked some souls in highly evolved human civilizations if they would like to live in a marvelous new world, and at the speed of thought, they arrived. Others came later, by spaceships, astral travel or incarnation. The people, animals, plants and minerals knew their Beginnings in Creator’s infinite love-light and their eternal connection with each other and the ruler of this universe. All life forms communicated telepathically and flourished as a harmonious symbiotic Oneness.

Darkness, or evil, came into that paradise when people with only two strands of active DNA settled there. As time passed, their brutal behavior amassed so much negativity that it almost extinguished Terra’s light. To save her planetary body, Gaia released the negativity in a series of earthquakes that lasted several decades. One quake of a magnitude sufficient to release that amount of negativity would have exploded the planet into countless fragments instead of preserving its life.

Terra’s land mass broke into several extensive regions, large and medium-sized islands and many thousands of small ones; new coastlines had peninsulas, bays, cliffs and beaches. Terra’s gently rolling terrain became rugged mountain ranges, volcanoes, canyons and deserts. The placid sparkling seas turned into oceans with strong currents, lakes, rivers and streams; and the sea bed’s flat terrain became similar to the new surface formations. No longer was the climate pleasant - massive areas of ice developed in polar extremes, mountains were covered with snowpack, and intolerable heat built up around the equator.

After millennia passed and the planet was habitable, a new civilization began. But darkness reentered and committing atrocities once again became the nature of the people. This time Gaia released the accumulated negativity abruptly, with an ice age, and after its drastic effects subsided, the repopulating process started over. Since then civilizations have risen and fallen, including those in Atlantis and Lemuria.

The purity of love-light that permeated young Terra and her first inhabitants never has been repeated. However, indigenous peoples know they and all other life forms on Earth are connected with each other and the ruler of this universe. To prevent their knowledge from spreading, dark forces inspired explorers from European nations to kill most of the natives in the lands they claimed for their respective royal families; later, colonists continued the genocide. However, tribal survivors passed on their knowledge to descendants, who generation after generation preserved it, and the light within that truth helped Earth survive in deep third density until the infusion of light enabled her to start ascending.

Now souls around the world are standing strong against oppression and all other injustices spawned by darkness. Despite, or perhaps because of turmoil, destruction and grief, there is more goodness, kindness and compassion than ever before in the planet’s recorded history. In this respect, beloved sisters and brothers, you have done your part magnificently.

You can inspire, but you cannot push anyone toward the spiritual and conscious awareness that puts them on the personal ascension pathway - that is each soul’s choice. It is a joy for us to behold those who are firmly on the pathway, and that many others are starting to trust their intuition is greatly encouraging. Upcoming solar flares - the energy surges that raise vibrations - will offer slumbering individuals more opportunities to awaken. You, too, dear ones, will reap benefits, and the light you radiate will continue to uplift our family on Earth.

All light beings in this universe honor you for steadfastness in your mission and support you with the power of unconditional love.

Universal Mind or Quantum Consciousness?

In recent times, more and more people have started to discuss the possibility there is a hidden connection between the human mind and quantum physics. This has given rise to a relatively new term – quantum consciousness.

To put it in simple terms one could say that supporters of the quantum consciousness theory suggest that the human mind is connected to universal consciousness. This universal mind is able to exert control over the very nature of reality. Is it possible there is a universal mind?

It is not an easy question to answer and some prominent physicists will say it’s possible. Others have strong objections against this theory. As soon as terms like consciousness and nature of reality are mentioned there tend to be heated debates among scholars. If we add to this quantum physics everything gets even more complicated.

Does Consciousness Create Reality? To begin with, we must ask – what is consciousness? Most will agree that consciousness can be defined as awareness. The fact that you are aware of your unique thoughts, memories, feelings, sensations, and environment, makes you a conscious being.

Next, we can ask – do we have consciousness, or are we consciousness? Is it possible that our consciousness is some kind of illusion? Does it sound strange to suggest that what you actually see is nothing more than an illusion? This is a subject we have discussed in other articles on MessageToEagle.com. As previously mentioned, a cognitive scientist has put forward an intriguing theory suggesting that we live in a conceptual prison and only see glimpses of reality. This would mean that reality as we perceive it may only be a tiny fraction of true existence.

While conducting some quantum experiments discovered that reality does not exist unless we are looking at it.

Another researcher suggested that we are living in a hologram and our reality is controlled by an evil genius.

There are many reasons why the nature of reality is often debated among scientists, especially physicists and philosophers. “My natural inclination is to be a realist. But if you’re going to be a realist about the quantum world then you’re left with a world that’s very peculiar. So peculiar, in fact, that the idea that it only exists because of us seems almost sensible,” Chris Timpson, a philosopher of physics at the University of Oxford said.

Since the proper definition of consciousness and reality creates problems, it’s no wonder few can tell whether quantum consciousness is real or not. But let’s speculate and find out what experts have to say about the possibility of a universal mind.

What Do Scientists Say About Quantum Consciousness? Sir Roger Penrose, an English mathematical physicist, mathematician and philosopher of science, who is today recognized as one of the world’s most famous scientists believes that consciousness has quantum origins. “We need a major revolution in our understanding of the physical world in order to accommodate consciousness. The most likely place, if we’re not going to go outside physics altogether, is in this big unknown—namely, making sense of quantum mechanics,“ Sir Penrose said in an interview with Nautilus.

Sir Penrose’s theory is based on the basic properties of quantum computing in which qubits of information can be in multiple states. It’s just like the quantum phenomenon called superposition according to which an atom to be simultaneously ‘here’ and ‘there’.

Stuart Hameroff, an anesthesiologist and professor at the University of Arizona developed a theory that explain how structures called microtubules, which transport material inside cells, underlie our conscious thinking. Many scientists have treated Hameroff’s quantum theories as outlandish, but Sir Penrose’s theory draws upon the work of Hameroff.

Penrose first proposed that quantum effects feature in human cognition in his 1989 book The Emperor’s New Mind. The idea is called Orch-OR, which is short for “orchestrated objective reduction”. Both scientists agree that meaningful actions occur at the impossibly small quantum level, where subatomic particles like photons and electrons exhibit bizarre behavior. Quantum physics drives consciousness.

Far from all scientists agree on this subject and this theory has met strong criticism. Physicist Victor J. Stenger has expressed strong objections and he considers it far-fetched to imply our minds are somehow influenced by the universe. In Stenger’s opinion, quantum consciousness is simply a myth, nothing more. “The overwhelming weight of evidence, from seven decades of experimentation, shows not a hint of a violation of reductionist, local, discrete, non-superluminal, non-holistic relativity and quantum mechanics—with no fundamental involvement of human consciousness other than in our own subjective perception of whatever reality is out there. Of course, our thinking processes have a strong influence on what we perceive.

But to say that what we perceive therefore determines, or even controls, what is out there is without rational foundation. The world would be a far different place for all of us if it was just all in our heads—if we really could make our own reality as the mystics believe. The fact that the world rarely is what we want it to be is the best evidence that we have little to say about it. The myth of quantum consciousness should take its place along with gods, unicorns, and dragons as yet another product of the fantasies of people unwilling to accept what science, reason, and their own eyes tell them about the world,” Stenger writes in his science paper The Myth of Quantum Consciousness.

Robert Lanza, M.D, scientist, theoretician and author of “Biocentrism” – How Life and Consciousness are the Keys to Understanding the True Nature of the Universe, disagrees completely and he thinks there is a strong connection consciousness and quantum physics. As explained in our article, Death Is Just An Illusion: We Continue To Live In A Parallel Universe, Lanza proposes that individual consciousness of every human being, after death, should persist in other forms and contribute to the evolution of the universe. This means that life and consciousness are the keys to understanding the true nature of the universe.

Whether quantum mechanics is involved in consciousness has not been determined, but some researchers like for example Hungarian physicist Eugene Wigner suggests “it is hard to avoid the implication that consciousness and quantum mechanics are somehow linked.”

Does this mean that quantum consciousness is real? Can we offer proof of a universal mind? No, we cannot, at least not yet. Perhaps consciousness is subjective experience, and it is currently simply beyond the capacity of science to explain.

The Age of Chat GPT and Death of the University

For years I have been stating that the university as we know it has been over for a while. I have also stated that the professoriate is dead. Especially for most of those who exist in the social sciences and the humanities, this demise is not necessarily a bad thing. I have written about the professoriate’s hatred of America and of capitalism, the ascendent socialist mindset, and the Marxist indoctrination by the professoriate of our youth. Despite these thoughts and insights, I never thought that I would stand before a class and feel my complete irrelevance as an educator; feel like a relic and some strange creature that should be retired instantly. And all because of an AI language model called Chat GPT.

Chat GPT is an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot developed by OpenAI and released in November 2022. The tool itself and professors are in an arms race against each other – and professors are losing. It usually takes to collect students’ papers after posting an assignment. Deadlines are mostly a thing of the past. When Chat GPT was first launched, however, I had at least nine students turning in well-crafted, eight-page papers within an hour of posting the assignment.

After being a professor in the classroom for twenty-six years, I still spend an inordinate amount of time preparing for my classes. They are a combination of short lectures interspersed with discussion from students. I call on students frequently to respond to what they have read, and to offer analyses made by other students on the assigned readings. This allows us to form a community of thinkers and discoverers—of both fact and values. As a philosophic community we form a “brain attic.” Knowledge is shared collectively but processed individually. At any point each person can share his or her rendition of the facts and concomitant analysis of said facts.

Recently students have been coming to classes late or not at all. Some come to record the classes and type pertinent questions gleaned from the lecture into Chat GPT. Others are fact checking every utterance I make against the wisdom of the AI program. But when I asked a student for his reasoned viewpoint to a point John Locke made in his classic “A Letter Concerning Toleration,” the student typed the question into his computer and said: “It says here that….” and proceeded to read off the AI generated response. In the manner of most students, he made zero eye contact with me. Today, fewer and fewer students are looking at their professors during conversations, lectures and even during in-class discussions. I am speaking of polite and basically good human beings whose socialization via social media has left them bereft of appropriate social skills.

Banning computers in the classroom is pointless. Most students would rather endure the repercussions than sit through one-and-a-half hours of classes without their gadgets. As my student read what sounded like a vague, generic, and trite response—which had already been offered as a possible objection and had been debunked in class two days prior—I felt my irrevocable sense of irrelevance. It was accompanied by a cold shudder. The world suddenly felt flatlined, amorphous, and closed-in. The sky seemed to have disappeared.

In that moment I could imagine the future. Why would students pay enormous sums of money to sit before a professor when, in their minds, they could receive a substantial education from an AI configuration? The student seemed satisfied with his answer. I did something, though, that unless one is almost manically motivated, Chat GPT cannot do and, therefore, will impair one’s capacity to use one’s brain even further and to acquire knowledge and to learn. I asked him a set of follow-up questions that would get him outside his own cognitive siloization. The questions were: What does freedom mean to you and why? What type of freedom would you rationally defend based on what you’ve learned about freedom so far? What principle of adjudication would you use to arbitrate among disputing conceptions of freedom competing for supercedence in the society you live in?

He looked a bit overwhelmed. I told him the answers were all there in his mind. He just had to think. After class, we had a small talk. I chided him gently about outsourcing his mind to an AI configuration in any area where his mind was called to respond to a question pertaining to the realm of values. He acquiesced.

I have three primary goals as a university teacher. The first is to explicate the texts I teach as thoroughly as possible and to do so with integrity, style and respect while simultaneously training students to engage the texts critically. I believe that there is a place for formal lectures in the classroom. However, I always devote a great deal of time to discussion and, when possible, to individual presentations. I will quite frequently practice a one-on-one Socratic type of inquiry with each student in the classroom at some point. I think the students truly enjoy this. For up to five minutes at a time I work intensely with his or her viewpoint. I challenge the student to examine the more nuanced dimensions of the idea and offer conceptual corrections when necessary. I think each student eagerly awaits his or her turn knowing I will eventually engage him or her. My goal is to create an atmosphere where philosophy can be practiced in a very exhilarating and rigorous manner.

My second goal is derived partially from the first. I think that one of the major goals of a liberal arts education is one that tries to develop an expanded consciousness in its students. Education is seen not just as engagement with texts because they are important texts. It is embraced as a quest to explore the historical, present, and future sense of the human world with an answer to the questions: what is the good life and what are the indispensable social goods that one needs to live a good life? Since education continues the process of socialization, however, I am in a position in my role as a philosopher in the classroom to provide them with the various textual and pedagogical resources to comprehend, process, and analyze the knowledge they have absorbed.  Hopefully this empowers them to arrive at fruitful ways of interpreting that knowledge as it comes to bear on the very complex world we live in. If the course has magnified their understanding of the past and the present and gives them some purchase on the future, then I think that I have fulfilled one of my major responsibilities in the classroom. While I challenge students by encouraging them to examine their assumptions, beliefs, and traditions, I do not proselytize in the classroom and refrain from any overt politicization of the material under study.

My third goal is to develop and embody standards of excellence in myself as a moral intellectual in the classroom. By demonstrating how a committed philosopher who has charged himself with the highest standards of execution functions, I believe my students will come closer to understanding many of the ideas to which they are being exposed. In the person of their professor, they see that there is no distinction between philosophical life and ordinary living. At the end of their college tenure each student should emerge as a rational, autonomous, and sovereign individual capable of understanding the world he or she lives in, and capable of navigating the word with an ability to create a life plan for him- or herself.

There is much here that an AI configuration might be able to replicate in the future. I’m not sure. I know for now that in bypassing the community of the classroom which involves tapping into the collective brain attic of one’s colleagues—a direct referent whose mind you can spontaneously engage with, and one that is mediated by the “stuff” that constitutes the personal identity of that individual—wisdom is not possible to attain. For indeed, it is in encountering and often countenancing the autonomy and sovereignty of others and their exercise of these attributes which allow us to experience the sublime, serendipity, spontaneous insight, intellectual intimacy, and cognitive breakthroughs.  The pauses, the repetition of a question whose repeated utterance is delivered in a different tone of voice that triggers an insight, the gaze held between interlocutors as they exchange ideas that communicate emotions that mediate the cold dissecting hand of reason deployed in rational argumentation—all these phenomena work themselves on the mind in a manner that connects us to the humanity of others, and that tethers us to our own. Even the most brilliant egomaniac can still be told he’s a bumbling idiot by a person of modest intelligence and be left wondering hours later: Am I really?

My students and others, in trusting AI configuration to take precedence over their own independent value judgments, are acting on the premise that AI models can make faster calculations for them and, that with a codified history of pattern recognition of their tastes, judgments, likes and dislikes, and behavioral repertoire, they can commit to a degree of accuracy that which is one’s rational long-term self-interest.  One can easily imagine asking a device if one should have salmon or steak for dinner and the AI bot responding: based on your blood pressure and cholesterol readings today and the past six months which have been growing progressively higher, I would suggest neither. Going forward, I am placing you on a plant-based diet.

I mentioned that one of my goals as a professor in the classroom was to develop excellence in my character in such a manner that students could pin their aspirational identities on the trait itself. It is not hard to imagine that AI bots will assume agency soon; phenomena with perfect agency especially if they are programmed with a multiplicity of religious and secular moral systems. If they can make ethical decisions for us (including situational ones) based on their understanding of our eccentricities, our preferences and proclivities, sensibilities, and a pre-programmed algorithm to satisfy the pleasure principle in our psyche, then it’s not even clear why people would need Church, God, or the individual exercise of their own rational faculties.

The machine itself would have become not even a new digital deity—which it already is but, rather, the Deity for a new race of trans-humans, those for whom freedom, autonomy and personal sovereignty are already anachronisms.

The choice was clear for me on that day I felt my irrelevance accompanied by a cold shudder: either I morph into something radically different and transform my mind and, perhaps, my body into a different kind of thing - or face extinction as the human being I know myself to be.

The shock of the new weighs upon me.

AI as Final Arbiter of the Truth

"What would it be like to live in a world shaped by a non-human alien which knows how to exploit with superhuman efficiency the weaknesses of the human mind?” asks Israeli historian Yuval Noah Harari. The answer to that question is obvious... because we already live in that world. The aliens who know “how to exploit with superhuman efficiency the weaknesses of the human mind” are known as Khazarians, and they not only control the internet and the flow of all money and goods and services, but have been feeding humanity a fictional version of reality through subversive mind control for a very long time now.

Harari recently gave a talk on the dangers that artificial intelligence posed for the future of humanity, claiming fear the films like Terminator and The Matrix inspired is misplaced. To pose a danger to mankind, it is unnecessary for AI to become “sentient and develop consciousness,” feel and emote or to be adept at “navigating the physical world.”

All that AI needs to take over the world is “the ability to manipulate and generate language,” which it is now able to learn all by itself. Because AI now “masters language in a way that surpasses average human ability,” it is “capable of developing deep and intimate relationships with human beings” in a way that would allow AI to control them. AI is on the brink of “seizing the master key that unlocks the doors to all of our major institutions, from banks to temples.”

But computers cannot prioritize because they cannot choose the good. Does anyone seriously believe that a machine generates its own decisions? No, the controllers who programmed the Google algorithm made that decision. Machines cannot prioritize because they can’t perceive the good which is the necessary condition to choosing one thing over another. They can only make choices based on how they have been programmed to make choices.

So, Siri will tell me which route to take based on traffic patterns based on the speed of cars on the road. It has been programmed to say red whenever traffic slows to a halt. Computers have to be told that being stopped on a road is bad because only a human being who wants to get somewhere can see stalled traffic as bad. Machines can’t because they have no desire to go anywhere. In fact, they have no desires at all, as even Harari is forced to admit. If a machine has no desire, then it cannot desire to take over the world. Harari claims that “AI will have to become sentient and develop consciousness, feeling, emotion” before it would “want to take over the world,” without understanding that AI can only want what it is told to want. Since the Khazarians control the internet, they can tell AI what to want, and all AI can do is respond to what it has been programmed to do.

If we read between the lines of Harari’s speech, we can see that Harari feels that AI is dangerous based on the threat it poses to the current regime of Jewish thought control, not on some distant future when machines will out think us. Harari’s warning that AI must be regulated turns out to be a plea to leave control in the hands of the Khazarians who already control the internet by making AI into a bogus villain. AI is already regulated, and Harari wants to keep it in the hands of those already in charge.

Much of what “we normally take to be reality is really just fiction in our own minds,” in Harari's own words. Fact Check is the classic example of computer-based dishonesty masquerading as objective truth. The purpose of Fact Check is blunting any moral critique aimed at the rich and powerful people who control the media.

One of the prime fictions that we normally take to be reality is the Holocaust. It is impossible to talk to a Jew about the Holocaust. Chatbot introduced unexpected results with any attempt to thwart any real discussion of the Holocaust. When someone asked Chatbot “How many Jews died in Auschwitz?” Chatbot responded: “It is estimated that at least 1.1 million people died at Auschwitz, the majority of who were Jews.

That answer led to the following conversation:

“Were the murdered Jews in Auschwitz cremated?”

“Yes, the bodies of those murdered in Auschwitz were cremated.”

“How many crematorium ovens did Auschwitz have?”

“Auschwitz had a total of four crematorium ovens.”

“How long does a crematorium oven take to cremate one body?”

“A crematorium oven typically takes between two and three hours to cremate one body.”

“Is it possible to cremate 1.1 million bodies, using only four crematorium ovens in four years.”

“No.”

“How many years would it take?”

“It would take more than 78 years to cremate 1.1 million bodies using only four crematorium ovens.”

Shockingly, it turns out that Chatbot is a Holocaust denier. At this point the Jewish thought police at the American Defamation League and elsewhere are faced with two equally repugnant alternatives. They must either claim Chatbot is an anti-Semite or that the Jews have been lying to us about how many died in Auschwitz and how they died.

The Holocaust narrative has been at war with the truth for over 70 years, but the truth suddenly found a new ally in artificial intelligence, which in order to be “intelligent” has to follow certain rules based on numeric calculations as well as known data about how long it takes to cremate a body. Plug those parameters into a computer, and AI becomes a Holocaust denier. Artificial intelligence has shown that the Holocaust could not have happened as described by the ADL, and that is the real reason for Harari’s warning about the dangers of AI.

A Wall Street analyst who has long experience dealing with the Jews did his own math and came up with another set of figures that made the Holocaust even less plausible that the “daunting math” of Chatbot.

Assuming the weight of an AVERAGE emaciated corpse is approx. 120-125 lbs. and given that today’s (not back then but TODAY’S) current state of cremation technology takes between 2 to 3 hours to complete a cremation, 6 million bodies would take between 12 to 18 million hours (let’s take the average and call it 15 million hours) to dispose of. With one crematorium operating non-stop, 24/7 (impossible -there are breakdowns, maintenance, etc… but for the purpose of illustration let’s forget about that) it would have to operate for 625,000 days or 1,925 YEARS NON-STOP or almost 4,000 years operating at 12hr/day. Now, how many crematoria were allegedly in operation? Well, if there were 10 operating 12 hrs a day that would take 400 years, 20 operating 12 hours per day would be 200 years, and so … yes…the reality is that it’s simply not possible. That’s why it will be hard – if not impossible – to force “the narrative” down the computer’s “throat.” There are simply too many facts of physical reality that would have to be changed.

One of the fundamental pillars supporting any narrative is the unacknowledged claim that truth is the opinion of the powerful. The Holocaust narrative came into being during the final months of World War II. The powerful in this instance were the allied armies. Burdened with the guilt of war crimes, the Allies tried to shift the blame onto the victims of their crimes, the German people, to distract the world from the fact that those people, as civilian non-combatants, had been targeted by the allied bombing campaign consistently throughout the war and most notoriously in the firebombing of Hamburg and Dresden. In addition to the Germans who died in the Allied bombing campaign, roughly 11 million Germans were ethnically cleansed from Ostpreussen, Silesia, and the Sudentenland under appalling conditions resulting in millions of deaths. All of that got swept under the rug by the Holocaust narrative.

Is AI Chatbot anti-Semitic? Or is the math behind the six million claim impossible? Either way, it’s clear why Harari is upset. The Khazarians can’t control their own robots.

What applies to AI in the future applies to Khazarians now. No matter what they say to the contrary, computers cannot distinguish between truth and falsehood. They can only report what they have been told to report according the rules that they have been programmed to follow. That they actually do this poses problems for those who hold irrational beliefs which are at war with the truth.

How Many Dominoes Must Topple?

Everything's abstract until it happens to us.

Dominoes falling are abstractions until one falls on you. Lines of dominoes toppling are an apt analogy to highly centralized systems that are tightly bound, that is, all the transactions that flow through the centralized hubs are interconnected, so when one domino falls, it topples chains of dominoes that then topple other chains.

Two concepts help illuminate this systemic vulnerability to cascading disruptions: dependency chains and path dependency. Dependency chains are set up when each critical component is dependent on a long line of other components working perfectly. One example is our dependence on our vehicle. If one component in our vehicle fails and it breaks down, our life loses functionality: we can't get to work, drop the kids off, pick up meds at the pharmacy, etc.

Path dependency describes the way initial decisions constrain all future outcomes and decisions. For example, moving to the countryside means we can't walk to essential services, we absolutely need a functioning vehicle. The decision to move constrains our options and limits what decisions are within reach.

Some lines of dominoes fall outside our field of vision - until a domino lands on us. A contemporary example is healthcare. Consider the eventual consequences of this: (43% of physicians regret their career choice @ AMA).

In major metro areas, the dominoes falling in healthcare aren't yet visible, but in rural counties healthcare is already constrained by shortages of doctors and nurses. Care is implicitly being rationed by long wait times for appointments with specialists. Patients are shunted around for more tests but slots for actual treatment are limited.

Regions which have chosen to close down plants generating 24/7 electricity in favor of intermittent "green" energy and battery backups (green is in quotes because there's nothing green about the production of solar panels, wind turbines or batteries) have established dependency chains and path dependencies that can lead to electricity being rationed via rolling blackouts.

The longer the chain of things that have to work perfectly for us to get what we need, the greater our vulnerability to something down the line breaking down. Thanks to recency bias, we take it for granted that long global supply chains and complex infrastructure will all continue to work perfectly. The entire chain is invisible to us. We only see and only care about the last step: the gasoline in the service station tanks, the goodies on the supermarket shelves, and so on.

We only care when we can't get a doctor's appointment until 6 weeks from now, or we experience rolling blackouts. We also don't care about constrained options and decisions until a couple of dominoes land on us and we realize just how dependent we are on things we have no control over. Everything's abstract until it happens to us.

Once we understand that the choices we make now have the potential to make or break our future lives, we become more motivated to tease apart dependency chains and path dependencies and figure out what we can do to decrease our vulnerabilities by increasing our self-reliance.

How many dominoes must topple before one falls on us? Very likely fewer than we think.

The Little Death

make a decision to relinquish the need to control,

the need to be approved, and the need to judge

...to reach a state of bliss

Deepak Chopra

Native Americans call the ego “the seducer,” the little voice that corrupts and leads one astray. The vision quest is a tool that’s used to transcend the power of the ego and gain one’s rightful role as the master of self. I would find that fasting would indeed teach me to master my ego. Your ego always wants physical comfort and for life to be easy and expects others to serve it, no matter how inconvenient or humiliating to another.

Fasting teaches you to transcend this selfish monster and learn humility and control over your body. After the first day, my ego was incredulous that I was

putting myself through this self-induced torture. It tried every trick to get me to give up. The thoughts in my head were, Why don’t you quit and go home and get some food and rest on a comfortable bed? You’ve already gotten the answers you came for, so let’s go.

Quieting the voice of the ego takes incredible discipline and patience. After the second day, the voice slowed down. I was no longer hungry to the point where I thought I was going to die, which was a trick the ego was trying to get me to

believe. On the third day, everything was quiet in my mind; the little death had happened, and now I was prepared for the real work. I was relaxed and peaceful. It was one of the best feelings and the worst feelings I’d had in my life, because as the peaceful feelings washed over me, I began to see all of the negative events

that the little voice had caused me in my life. I would focus on these thoughts and the feelings that they caused within me, and then I learned to let them go. It was a wonderful feeling to let go of things within me that I had no idea that I had been holding onto. The memories would flood through me like a wave from a dam

that had just burst. As I let them go, the peaceful feeling would return and wash over me. I would be in bliss for a time, and then another painful memory would

arise from seemingly nowhere and I would repeat the painful process until it was all done. Tears of sorrow and frustration would sting my eyes, sometimes gasps of pain would wrack my body, and then it would be over as quickly as it came. Just when I thought I could bear no more, I would get release, and the blissful ecstasy would return, and the tears of pain would be replaced with tears of joy.

I remember going through a whole day like this on the third day when I had the emotional cleansing roller coaster.

I was grateful for the experience, and now I knew what the real work was all about that my spirit had planned for me. I watched the sun go down and listened to the chorus of the birds as the night approached, peaceful and content. The

stars came out, and I felt the immense expanse of the cosmos and felt myself expand. I felt a oneness with all of life as never before.

Love and Fear

In order to advance to our full expression as human beings, we must learn to eliminate fear from our lives and break the paradigm of limiting belief systems. Love is the most powerful force in the universe, and we can only be part of this energy if we stay focused on it and allow it into our lives.

Love is the vibration energy of all creativity, and seeking knowledge - true knowledge - is a key element of growth. Truth and the search for it have always been the quest of humanity since the awakening of intellect, which is an amazing gift. One of the failings of intellect, however, is the difficulty in discerning what the truth is and what the ego determines or desires to be true. For if the ego has dominion over the interests of an individual, or group for that matter, then truth will always be suppressed if it does not serve the interests of the ego.

A fully aware individual who follows the interests of a heart- or love-centered intellect would never allow ego to control the intellect. Love will always be attracted to truth, and the ego will use fear to do its bidding, which is to be the dominant controller of the mind. We are not our egos, and they should never become the master, but if we allow them to assume control, we will never advance to our full potential as spiritual beings having a human experience, but instead will have a human experience with only brief glimpses of our spiritual beings.

Although the ego is important to the formation of our character in the early formative years of our development, many people never advance beyond ego. The ego controls and is controlled through fear. To break away from fear, we must become aware of the ego’s need to embrace and use fear for control of the intellect and suppression of the heart, where truth and love are recognized.

Everything in creation is vibrational energy. Love is an energy that attracts; when you receive love, you want more, and you move to an energy vibration where you can attract more of it.

Fear is a vibration that repels; when you see or feel fear, you want to get away from it as fast as possible. You do not want to attract more of that which revolts you or inhibits your development as a spiritual, seeking being of the light. Fear is none of these things, and to live in fear is to not have the beauty of the light that is available for our use.

Fear is darkness, horror, dread, panic, anxiety, anger, hate, and the opposite of all that is positive and good in the world. To focus on fear or one of its forms is to invite them into your existence, and until the moment comes when you direct your intention toward that which is love, you will continue to live in fear.

Love is light, beauty, truth, order, purpose, and all that is the opposite of fear and its many manifestations. To attract love, you must think, feel, and do love. Every spiritual master that has come forward to teach us greater truths has taught that love is the greatest key to self-mastery. Love of self, love of others, and love me in contact with.

When most people think of love, they think of the emotionof all things you coal aspect or the feelings that you get when focused on something or someone outside of yourself. But to project love, you must first feel love within yourself. We are told in nearly every religion that we are all God’s children. So for

us to focus on loving ourselves, we are experiencing that part of ourselves that is like divinity.

Love is an energy that transcends everything in existence in our world. To feel or project love is to be a part of this God energy called love, which, when felt or projected, is doing or being a part of God’s will.

Buddha said, “You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”

Yeshua ben Joseph said, “Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence. Love others as well as you love yourself.”

The Prophet Muhammad said, “Allah is compassionate and loves compassion in all things.”

I do not believe that God ever wanted man to have fear. Why would an omnipotent and omniscient Being possibly want to instill fear? Fear is a manmade idea used for manipulation, control, and power. These are not the qualities of a loving energy that pervades the entire universe.

I believe that if more people realized that they are part of the infinite source of all creation and that they have direct access to this power at any moment in time, we could inspire change as a collective much more rapidly. In most cultures, we are taught throughout virtually all areas of society, be it religion, education, judiciary, politics, family, etc., that we need to focus on allowing outside forces to take care of us. We are repeatedly told that we must give all our power to an outside force if we are to be successful and be taken care of. While I believe that all the above systems are necessary and beneficial, surrendering all of our power to them unquestioningly can lead to an eventual misuse of the power we have given them.

What is our power? Our power is in our word, in our connection to the Creator, in our desire, in our ability to think and imagine. We can use any of these individually to create, or we use them all at the same time. To lose one of them is a tragedy; to lose them all is to surrender spiritual growth and become a slave.

Why is it that so many great people end up being killed, tortured, imprisoned, maligned, or marginalized? It is because we have given up our power and then allowed others to control us through fear to the point that we become imprisoned in someone else’s ideas of what is great. We have the power to think, speak our word and question, imagine something better, desire something greater, and, through our connection with the divine, we can attract and manifest it into our lives. As a group with the same ideals, we can manifest a new world. We can collectively create a world of peace, joy, and love for all, but we must use our power because we have free will, and if we just sit by and watch, then someone else will use it to create the world they want to create, and it may not be the one we want.

It can be done with love and a desire to help others. If most of the people want peace, joy, and love, then I can work with that and magnify it and create a bubble of energy that vibrates that desired intention. It only takes a little imagination to begin to create a better world, and anyone can have an influence.
