C60 Improves Athletic Performance

C60 is short for Carbon 60, a naturally occurring molecule comprised of 60 carbon atoms forming something that looks like a hollow soccer ball. In fact, it´s the only molecule of a single element that forms a spherical cage. Also known as a Buckminsterfullerene, this unique structure makes C60 a ”free radical sponge” with the ability to neutralize free radicals and reset itself again and again.

C60 has an antioxidant efficacy several hundred-fold higher than conventional antioxidants. Not only can C60 help maximize the efficiency of the cells in producing energy, but it may also provide cellular protection against many toxic environmental factors.

There are a variety of ways C60 improves athletic performance:

1. C60 Boosts Energy

Carbon 60 is recognized as a powerful universal antioxidant and performs the same function as the four antioxidants responsible for producing adenosine triphosphate. In addition, ATP plays an important role in the synthesis of cellular energy. A boost in ATP production also leads to an increase in the energy needed for athletic activities.

2. C60 Neutralizes Oxidative Radicals

Mitochondria produce 65% of oxidative radicals inside of cells. When a person is doing intense exercise, the production of oxidative radicals may increase by as much as 100 times. This can lead to oxidative stress in the body. Oxidative stress can cause damage to DNA, fatty tissue, and proteins in the body. This type of damage has been linked to atherosclerosis, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. C60 neutralizes oxidative radicals, which can reduce oxidative stress during exercise.

3. C60 Reduces Soreness

For everyday people, soreness from working out can be a disincentive to exercise. For athletes, it can severely degrade performance. A daily dose of Carbon 60 can reduce muscle fatigue and lactic acid build-up. This can make your workout more efficient and less painful.

Whenever someone performs an intense physical activity, the body can reach a state where oxygen levels can not keep pace with the body’s energy demands, known as an anaerobic exercise. While in this state, lactic acid is produced by the body. Lactic acid causes burning pain in the muscles that can reduce performance during activity and cause soreness afterward.

C60 reduces the buildup of reactive oxidative species during exercise. This helps the body get the antioxidants it needs while in an anaerobic state, resulting in less lactic acid production. In addition, less lactic acid makes it easier for athletes to manage fatigue, which improves endurance.

ROS can damage cells leading to inflammation and muscle soreness. Therefore, reducing the amount of ROS produced during activity reduces soreness and improves recovery time.

4. C60 Improves Recovery Time

Most athletes have probably experienced muscle soreness the day after an intense workout caused by delayed onset muscle soreness. DOMS is caused by lipid peroxidation, damage to cellular membranes, and damaged proteins caused by oxidative stress. Oxidative stress causes inflammation which leads to soreness and pain after athletic activity.

Because C60 reduces oxidative stress during exercise, there isn’t as much soreness and inflammation after workouts. This means you can recover faster and work out more often, making it possible to build endurance and strength more quickly. It also means you will feel better during athletic activities because you won’t constantly be in recovery.

5. C60 Improves Injury Recovery Time

Injuries are a constant source of anxiety for athletes. Injured athletes miss out on opportunities, and accumulated injuries can cut careers short. Carbon 60 helps damaged tissues rebuild by stabilizing antibodies. This allows the body to recover from tissue tears and other injuries faster.

6. C60 Reduces Anxiety Levels

Athletic performance isn’t just about how well your body performs. The mental component is also key. For example, free radicals in the body can contribute to anxiety. Carbon 60 can lower anxiety levels by reducing these free radicals and can help you keep your mind focused, leading to better overall performance.

7. C60 Slows the Aging Process

Athletic careers can be cruelly cut short due to the demands athletic competitions place on aging bodies. The antioxidant properties of C60 may slow the aging process by reducing free radicals in the body. This can help athletes stay in the game longer.

Conclusion: C60 has shown promise in enhancing athletic performance by improving energy production, reducing lactic acid buildup, and promoting faster recovery. While more research is needed to fully understand its effects, C60 may be a valuable supplement for athletes seeking to optimize their performance and reduce exercise-induced oxidative stress and inflammation. As with any supplement, consult with a healthcare professional before adding C60 to your regimen.
